DESIGN OF EXPERIMENT
On today's blog, we'll dive into a case study of DoE!
For this case study, I used the data given and plot it into the data analysis template.
and from there i got the mean values for the highs and lows of each factor.
using the mean values, i plotted my full factorial graph to see the effects of the factors and interactions of factors with each other
When there is larger bowl diameter,
amount of bullets is lower. (third)
When microwaving time is longer, amount
of bullets is lower. (second)
When power setting of microwave
is higher, amount of bullets is lower. (first)
There is little interactions
between B and C, and C and A as the lines are nearly parallel to each other.
However for factor A and B, both lines are intersecting each other, hence there
is a significant interaction between A and B.

full factorial data analysis
In conclusion, power setting of microwave has the highest effect in having lesser of bullets, followed by microwaving time then diameter of bowl. However, interactions between factors A and B shows that when diameter of bowl is larger and microwaving time is longer, amount of bullets is lesser but when diameter of bowl is smaller, even with longer microwaving time, the amount of bullets is still higher.
For Fraction factorial data analysis, i first picked the runs i wanted to use, which was run order 1,2,5,7 so that i get equal numbers of plus and minus for me to do the analysis.
And then i ploted the graph for fractional factorial data analysis.
Based on the graph,
When diameter of bowl is higher, amount of bullets are higher (third)
When microwaving time is longer, amount of bullets are lower (second)
When power setting of microwave is higher, amount of bullets are lower (first)

Personally, Even though we've used DOE in our LPS 2 coffee making practical, it was still somrthing quite new cause never was I exposed to like the data analysis sheet and it was a new way for me to like analyse data as usually our results is either a 'yes' or 'no' but not really telling us the effects so this was a great way for me to be able to analyse data.
During the experiment itself, it was quite fun to see like predict where the balls will land, but i also realised with more runs we do, my prediction for where the ball lands became more accurate and was able to see the effects of the different parameters. Overall, it was a fun and insightful learning experience.
